"Together we love; together we learn"

Vision and Ethos

At Barford St. Peter's, we are fully committed to our vision that:

Together we love; together we learn

This is based on the scripture 1 Peter Chapter 4:8-10

“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”

Our aim is to prepare all of our pupils for an ever-changing world and enable them to become life long learners committed to making a genuine difference to the world - and making a difference always begins with love. We believe that it is a privilege to support all our children to achieve their full potential as they embark upon their journey through education and beyond.

We hope that our website gives you a flavour of our caring and vibrant church school where our pupils experience a plethora of opportunities to live out our six school Christian values which help us to weave the vision into our every day lives. These are:

Kindness

Thankfulness

Respect

Responsibility

Compassion

Perseverance

Each half term, we focus in detail on one of these values.

Click on each value to see our impressive 'Vision Captures' which give a snapshot of examples demonstrating how we live out our Christian values.

They lay the foundations for our actions and underpin the inclusive curriculum taught within a safe, supportive and nurturing environment, rooted in Christian beliefs where the unique qualities of each child and adult are recognised, respected and celebrated.

Our high expectations and strong Christian identity have enabled up to be a popular and highly regarded school where all children are encouraged to develop a love of learning and are supported to achieve their full potential.

We are extremely proud of our curriculum and strive to provide our children with the powerful knowledge they need to become global citizens. Our curriculum meets the needs of all pupils through our ambitious, carefully-sequenced and knowledge-rich approach. We carefully build upon children's prior learning so they can see how all the pieces of the curriculum jigsaw fit together to gain deeper understanding. We want all children to feel a sense of pride and achievement showing perseverance, kindness and making courageous decisions. Through immersing our children in so many varied, and important, concepts, we stretch our children's independence of mind, empowering them to be articulate communicators committed to a better future for all. We strive to inspire a passion for discovery and a thirst for learning. Our children are incredibly articulate when talking passionately about their learning

We value positive and mutually supportive relationships with parents and carers whereby communication is key so that we can best work together to support the children's learning and progress as well as their wellbeing.

As a result of our Christian vision, quality of teaching, excellent pastoral care and opportunities beyond the classroom (such as school trips, visitors, theme days and sports and music events), our children are inspired to develop confidence, think critically and make the most of their learning and challenges. We aim to strengthen their self-belief and enable our children to use their powerful knowledge to inspire and empower positive change in the world around them.
